Why is Christmas always on December 25?
Because the date is fixed on the calendar and does not move with the weekday. In the United States, 5 U.S.C. 6103 lists "Christmas Day, December 25" among the holidays of federal employees. When it falls on a Saturday, the Friday before is the holiday: OPM lists Friday, December 24 for 2027, when December 25 is a Saturday.

Divide the days left by 7. As an example, from October 11, 2026 the counter reads 75 days, which is 10 weeks and 5 days. For Christmas Eve, subtract one day: it is December 24.
